Affordable Electric Hatchback Set to Accelerate EV Adoption in India's Mass Market
Tata Motors has announced that it would launch the Tiago EV in India within September 2022. The subcompact hatchback will become the company's third EV model after Tigoe EV and Nexon EV. Tata is expected to position the Tiago EV below the Tigor EV, making it the entry model to Tata's electric vehicle lineup.
The Tiago EV is expected to come equipped with the same Ziptron technology that is currently used for the Tigor EV and Nexon EV. Tata claims the Ziptron technology would deliver an output of 75 HP and 170 Nm of torque and a range of 306 kilometers.
The company has not announced pricing for the model yet.
