Mitsubishi Motors has world premiered its 6th-generation L200 Triton one-ton pickup truck with sales of some versions commencing immediately in Thailand. Exports will initially be rolled out to other ASEAN and Oceania markets during the upcoming months.
The new L200 Triton features:
2.4-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine (4N16) which offers three different outputs; high output and two standard-output versions:
The high output version is equipped with a new turbo charger and new combustion system, providing a flat maximum output of 150 kW and maximum torque of 470 Nm from approximately 1,500 rpm.
There are two versions of the standard specification one with an engine that has a maximum output of 135 kW and a maximum torque of 430 Nm, and another that has a maximum output of 110 kW and a maximum torque of 330 Nm.
Transmission is available in both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
Newly developed "MEGA Frame" ladder chassis which has a 65% greater cross sectional area than the previous model, a bending rigidity increase of 60% and increased of 40% in torsional rigidity.
Front double wishbone suspension mounting arm has been moved higher to increase the stroke by 20 mm while rear suspension utilizes a lighter leaf spring system together with thicker shock absorbers
